Wellness SEO in Kansas City

SEO and website UX for sound healers, estheticians, bodyworkers, yoga studios, and Ayurvedic practitioners across the Kansas City metro. I live here, and I will come to your studio.

Based in Overland Park. In person across the metro, on video everywhere else.

(yes, I’ll bring my own notebook.)

Local search is three results deep

When someone in Prairie Village searches for your modality, Google shows a map and three businesses. Position four is page two, and almost nobody goes there.

Getting from four to three is usually a category fix, a citation cleanup, and a page that actually says where you work.

What is different about local wellness search

For the full walkthrough, from your Business Profile category to what to do if you see clients at home, read local SEO for wellness practitioners.

Category

Your category decides your competition

Google puts you in a category, and that category decides who you appear beside. A sound healer filed as a spa competes with spas, on their terms, for their searches. This is the single most common problem I find, and it takes ten minutes to fix.

Distance

Distance is a ranking factor you cannot buy

Proximity to the searcher matters in the map pack, which means you will not outrank a studio across town in their neighborhood. What you can win is your own area, plus every search where intent matters more than distance.

Classes

Classes and series are invisible without dates

Most studio sites list their schedule inside a booking widget a crawler cannot read. Event markup puts your Tuesday restorative class into search results with a date attached.

Reviews

Reviews age faster than you think

Twelve glowing reviews from 2021 read as a practice that peaked in 2021. Recency counts, and a simple request habit fixes it without feeling pushy.

Who I work with here

Solo practitioners and small teams. If your work happens in a treatment room, a studio, or someone’s living room, we speak the same language.

  • Sound healers and breathwork facilitators running sessions and series
  • Estheticians and skincare studios, including holistic and results-driven practices
  • Massage therapists and bodyworkers, including lymphatic drainage
  • Yoga and movement teachers with classes, workshops, and trainings
  • Ayurvedic practitioners offering consultations and treatments
  • Acupuncturists, doulas, and small holistic clinics

What being local actually gets you

I come to you

Intake calls happen at your studio or treatment room, which means I see the business, not just the website. Half the useful findings in an audit come from that half hour.

The Grand Schema is a service-area business, so there is no walk-in address on my end.

I know the map

I know which searches cross State Line, which suburbs behave like their own markets, and how far a client will realistically drive for a facial. That shapes which terms are worth chasing.

Not in the metro? Everything works the same on video. Book an audit from anywhere.

Wild Yonder Wellness

“Grand Schema caught tons of discrepancies across my business listings and platforms, many of them small details that would have been very easy to miss but can make a real difference in whether your business shows up in search.”

Questions from Kansas City practitioners

(ask me anything. really.)
Which areas do you cover in person?

Overland Park, Leawood, Prairie Village, Lenexa, Olathe, Shawnee, Mission, Merriam, Westwood, Roeland Park, and both sides of Kansas City. If you are a little outside that, ask. I am usually willing.

Can you fix my Google Business Profile for me?

Yes, as part of the audit and fixes package. The audit itself tells you exactly what to change, with the category, the fields, and the wording, so you can do it yourself in an afternoon if you would rather.

Do I need a website, or is the Google listing enough?

The listing gets you into the map. The website is what convinces someone to book and what AI assistants read when they decide whether to mention you. You need both, and they need to agree with each other.

How long until I show up in the map pack?

Profile and category corrections can move things within a few weeks. Competitive local terms usually take three to six months. Anyone promising faster is guessing.

I am not in Kansas City. Can we still work together?

Yes. Audits, fixes, and ongoing work are identical on video, and local SEO works the same in any town. The only thing you miss is me turning up with a notebook.
